Privacy notice

1. What we collect

We collect the email address you order from, the tickers you ask for, and what you write to us. When you sign up for the free monthly edition we also record how you found us: the tracking tags on the link you followed and the name of the site that sent you, if any. The page you land on reads these and does not save them on your device; if you buy from that page, a short version of them goes to our payment processor with your order. We do not ask for and do not want your holdings, your net worth, your income or your objectives. We do not sell or share your data. Ask us to delete it and we delete it.

When you sign up for the free monthly edition we also record the country and the network provider (your internet or mobile company) the request came from, as our host, Cloudflare, reports them, and keep them with your email address. We do not save your IP address with your signup; to slow down repeated signups, our signup check keeps only a scrambled count tied to it, for at most a day. We use the country and network provider only to spot automated or abusive signups.

2. Why the list is short

The document is not tailored to your circumstances, so your circumstances are not an input to it. The best protection for personal data is not holding it, and that is the position the product design puts us in.

3. Payment data

Card details are handled by our payment processor and are never sent to us or stored by us. We see the amount, the date and the email address on the order.

4. How long we keep it

Order records are kept for as long as we are required to keep them for tax and accounting. Correspondence is kept so we can answer follow-up questions about a document you bought.

5. Your requests

Ask for a copy of what we hold, a correction, or deletion, and we do it. Write to [email protected]. There is no form.

6. Email

We email you about an order you placed. If we ever send anything commercial, it carries a working unsubscribe link and our postal address, as required by the CAN-SPAM Act.

7. Who else touches it

Stripe processes payments. Brevo, our email provider, stores the address you sign up or order with and sends our email. Cloudflare hosts this site and sees the ordinary request information any web host sees.

Website analytics

Pages on this site are measured with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which Cloudflare, our web host, adds to the pages it serves. It counts page views and page-load times in aggregate. Cloudflare states that it does not use cookies or local storage to collect these numbers and does not fingerprint visitors by IP address or browser details (Cloudflare), and that it does not log the query string of the address you visit (Cloudflare FAQ). It stores nothing on your device, and a content blocker can block it without breaking anything on the site.

Do Not Track

Some browsers can send a Do Not Track signal. There is no common standard for how a website should respond to it, so this site does not change what it collects when it receives one. The analytics described on this page runs either way. We do not track you across other websites or build an advertising profile of you, with or without the signal. We do not sell or share personal information, so there is nothing for a Global Privacy Control signal to opt you out of.

Children

This site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you think a child has given us an email address, write to [email protected] and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

When we change this policy, we post the new version on this page and change the effective date shown at the top. That date moves only when the wording changes.
